Thrifty Thursday Maybelline Color show Neons

Electric pink

Electric pink is a hot pink with a hint of coral, the formula for this polish isn't the greatest the consistency is thick and sticky and its slightly tricky to apply. The coverage was sheer I applied three coats
of polish the polish still wasn't opaque and I didn't feel like a fourth coat would help also the polish was starting to get thick on my nail, you could still see a lot of nail line so I would probably apply a white base next time I apply this polish.

Sweet clementine

Sweet clementine is a creamsicle orange polish that has a consistency that is on the thin side. The polish does apply quite streaky and will take 2-3 coats for full opacity, I will say I had to take my time applying this polish because if you press to hard when applying you will get bald spots.

Orange fix

Orange fix is a bright in your face true orange, the consistency of this polish was thin and the coverage sheer I applied three coats and I could still see my nail line just like electric pink I will apply a white base next time which also will help make the colour pop.

Green zing

Green zing is a bright swamp green polish like most of the others from this collection the coverage isn't great I applied four coats and could still see nail line next time I will use a white base. The consistency of this polish is slightly thin and that is why I applied four coats because the polish wasn't getting thick on my nail but the fourth coat didn't really make much of a difference.

Fuchsia fever

Fuchsia fever is a bright barney purple polish this polish has the worst coverage and consistency out of the whole collection. The consistency is super watery and and the coverage is very patchy I applied three coats and there was still a lot of patchiness on my nails. I don't feel like a white base would help this polish it isn't the best out of this collection.

I purchased these polishes from poundland

Thrifty Thursday Maybelline color show 5th avenue mattes Traffic stop

Traffic stop is a bright cola red polish that dries matte. This polish applies and looks like a jelly polish you do get good coverage but you can still see some nail line. I applied three coats of polish and I still felt like I could see a lot of nail line. The consistency of the polish is on the thinner side and the brush is wider so I would suggest taking your time when applying this polish because you will make a mess easily and red polish is a pain to clean up. I do like the finish of this polish I am getting into the matte finish more but if you don't like the matte finish you can always apply a glossy topcoat.

I purchased this polish from superdrug when maybelline was on a two products for £6 deal but superdrug always has different deals on, you can purchase the polish from http://www.superdrug.com/Maybelline/Maybelline-Colorstay-N-P-5Th-Ave-455-Traf-Stop/p/602100

Treatment Tuesday- Maybelline Dr rescue SOS balm

I am slightly obsessed with cuticle balms, oils and butters so when I saw this product in my local boots I had to pick it up and I am so glad I did. I haven't really seen a mainstream brand that do mostly makeup sell cuticle treatments, I know L'Oreal, rimmel, Revlon and maybelline make nail polish but I haven't seen hand/cuticle care products from these brands before. I didn't have high hopes for this balm until I used it, this balm is lovely it is non greasy but hydrating and it sinks in incredibly fast. This balm is the perfect cuticle product for when your out and about, you do have to apply it to your skin rather than applying it to your nail because if you apply it to your nail you will waste a little bit of product and dent the balm but that's just what I do its just my personal preference. The balm has a slight smell but its not strong at all but I can't put my finger on what it smells like. I would highly recommend this product if your not into cuticle oils because this product is non greasy most cuticle oils have a greasy feeling and leave an oily film that may take a while to sink in and some people don't like the oily feeling but this product does not do that at all. I am so glad I picked this up and when I finish this one I will definitely be picking up another one, this product is now my handbag staple cuticle product for when I'm out and about.

I would highly recommend you pick up one of these when your out I purchased mine at a boots but anywhere with a maybelline counter should have this product.

My Favorite purple polishes

This is the forth post in my favorite series and today is the turn of the purple polishes

Nails inc – Lowndes square

Lowndes square is a lovely dusky lilac polish, depending on how thick a layer you apply you will get away with one coat of this polish. The polish doesn't apply streaky or patchy which is great, I just think this is such a classy and sophisticated colour, if you have meetings for work and you still want to wear a colour on your nails I think this would be the perfect polish. I love this polish so much I have a backup.

Avon – Decadence

Decadence is a deep purple/red polish with a silver/blue shimmer running through the polish. The coverage is slightly sheer on the first coat and I will say depending on how thick a coat you apply it will take 2-3 coats for this polish to be fully opaque. There is a downfall with this polish the shimmer doesn't come across on the nail which is disappointing but the colour is still lovely.

Maybelline color show – Noite De Gal

Noite de gal is a lovely deep plum polish, this polish applies smoothly it has a nice formulation it does take two coats for this polish to be fully opaque. I just love to wear a deep purple/plum polish in the colder months and this polish is so easy to apply.

Nails inc – Suffolk street

Suffolk street is a deep aubergine polish, this polish is a one coater. The consistency of this polish is on the the thicker side but its not hard to use, this polish dries demi matte so if you like that finish don't add a topcoat but if you like the high shine finish just add a topcoat of your choice.

Maybelline super stay- Mint for life

This is a beautiful bright mint green polish, the consistency is good maybe slightly on the thin side but it was easy to work with. This polish almost went on in one coat no streaks. I am impressed with this polish lovely colour nice formula and I am in love with the brush which helps in its easiness to apply.
