Thrifty Thursday Orly Snowcone

Snowcone from orly is a polish I have heard is a cult classic since I have been collecting polish so I was excited when I found it at tk maxx for £2.99. Snowcone is a medium blue with some grey mixed in , the consistency is on the thinner side but the coverage is decent it will take 1-2 coats depending on how thick you apply the polish.

I purchased this polish from Tk maxx

Throwback Tuesday NYC Spring street

Spring street is a orange with some red that is bright but it has a deepness to it. The consistency of this polish is on the thinner side but its not so thin that it will run off the brush and flood your cuticles. The coverage is on the sheer side but I got full opacity in three coats, this polish does dry super glossy which makes it pop.

Fresh Friday Danglefoot polish Live colourfully collection ( with holo flakes) Part 2

Break the rules

Break the rules is a hot Barbie pink polish the micro bar glitters that are in all the polishes in this collection are quite prominent in this polish. The consistency is thin and the coverage is sheer I applied three coats for full opacity, I would suggest a glossy top coat because the glitters in this polish are slightly raised and leave the polish with a slight texture.

Ditch the diet

Ditch the diet is a medium purple polish I like the flakes in this polish quite a bit I feel like the flakes that run throughout this collection look better in a darker colour. The consistency is super thin I did have to take my time when applying this polish just in case it flooded my cuticles, the coverage wasn't the greatest either the polish applied patchy but it was fully opaque in three coats.

Dress to impress

Dress to impress is a medium blue again like the purple I liked the look of the flakes in this polish I think they look better in the darker deeper colours. The consistency was decent nothing to complain about but the coverage was the worst out of all the polishes in this collection, the polish applied very sheer and very patchy but it was opaque in three coats.

All in all the colour range in this collection is great and there isn't a really tricky polish to apply which with neon polishes its great to find. Personally I am not a big fan of the flakes and glitter in the lighter polishes but in the two deeper ones I quite liked the finish. This collection does come in straight up cremes so I should of maybe purchased  them instead but I saw holo and neon and quickly purchased this collection, this is a lovely collection and I might just have to purchase some of the creme finish polishes.

Thrifty Thursday Colors by Llarowe Unicorn duo

When this duo came out there was a lot of hype over it, the swatches looked amazing the polish looked like an amazing glowing holographic polish unfortunately I didn't get that amazing white I your face holographic polish but it is still nice in its own way.

Unicorn colour correcting base

This base coat is super thick and its not the easiest to apply its a white that looks like glue. I applied one coat and there was slight patchiness on some of my nails, I am not sure if I was supposed to apply two coats but I will try next time applying two coats of this base to see if I get a better finish. Remember to take your time when applying this base because it is thick and will get on your skin and cuticles.

Chasing unicorn

This polish is the complete opposite to the base coat the consistency is thin and the coverage is very sheer, I don't think this polish would get opaque by itself. I applied two coats just because I didn't like the finish of just one coat I could still see some of the bald spots from the base but like I said maybe I should of applied two coats of the base instead of one. This polish is supposed to be a white holographic polish I personally think its a silvery dove grey this polish does pop in sunlight or under a lamp the holographic finish does show when your nails are in the sun.

I purchased this duo on a facebook nail sale page but you can purchase this from http://www.harlowandco.org/products/chasing-a-unicorn-duo

Throwback Tuesday Freedom 411

This polish is a beautiful deep orange with a hint of red, this polish has an amazing formula for being so inexpensive and also neon polishes can have some tricky formulas sometimes. This polish has a slightly thicker formula but its easy to apply, this polish takes 2-3 coats to be fully opaque depending on how thick you apply the polish.

Fresh Friday Danglefoot polish Live colourfully collection ( with holo flakes) Part 1

Dance all night

Dance all night is a in your face neon lime apple green with holo flakes. This polish was pleasantly surprising because neon's can have notoriously tricky formulas and this polish didn't, the first coat had decent coverage the polish didn't apply streaky or patchy. This polish is fully opaque in 2-3 coats depending on how thick you apply the polish, I got it opaque in two coats without any problems . The holographic flakes aren't in your face they are very subtle I feel like there is very small shards of bar glitter in this polish they do stick out but they are quite sparse.

Spike the punch

This polish is a true orange with a creaminess to it, the polish has a thin consistency but it isn't to tricky to apply. The coverage is patchy and streaky on the first coat but on the second coat I had no problems this polish it takes 2-3 coats for opacity depending on how you apply your nail polish. This polish dries matte and the glitters that appear in the whole collection slightly texture the polish so I would suggest a glossy top coat, the flakes are super subtle but the same micro bar glitters stick out like a sore thumb.

Make an entrance

Make an entrance is a super in your face neon yellow with a hint of green the colour of a tennis ball. The coverage was better than I expected for this polish its not a one coat wonder but it was good for a neon polish again 2-3 coats for opacity. I quite liked the look the flakes gave this polish because they are darker which gave this neon polish a different look.

Steal a kiss

Steel a kiss is a super neon in your face coral with a lot of pink, unfortunately my camera got scared of this polishes neon and made it look more red/orange that the polish actually is so I'm sorry for the bad swatch picture. The consistency of this polish was lovely it applied like butter unfortunately the coverage is quite sheer on the first coat but the second coat totally covered everything. The flakes look fine in this polish again the micro bar glitter is sparse but they do stick out.

Please keep your eyes peeled for the second part to this review

Thrifty Thursday O.P.I Act your beige!

This polish is a very soft nude with a hint of pink, I am not usually into these kinds of colours but this one took me by surprise I loved it it made my nails and hands look elegant and I wore it for almost a week which is unusual for me, I change my manicure every other day almost. This polish is on the sheer side I think it was part of the 2015 soft shades collection so I didn't expect full opacity but for the finish I liked I applied three coats. This polish does apply slightly streaky but you kind of expect that with most lighter colours like this, I just try not to apply to much pressure when painting this polish on my nails.

I purchased this polish from my local sally beauty supply.

Throwback Tuesday Bonita Dali's memory

This polish looks beautiful in the bottle it looks like a lovely light green with a iridescent shimmer running though it, on the nail its a total different story on the nail the polish is a chalky moss green and the shimmer doesn't show on the nail at all. The consistency is very thick but the coverage is ok but it is slightly patchy I applied two coats but the polish just didn't wow me it looked lovely in the bottle but not the nail.

Fresh Friday Creative cuticles Melons and cucumbers

Melons and cucumbers is a pastel mint crelly polish, the consistency of this polish is nice it is easy to apply. The coverage isn't the greatest the first coat was very sheer, on the second coat I thought I had a fuzzy on my nail but it turned out the polish has green glitter mixed in it, the glitter is very sparse and is almost the same colour as the polish. I applied four coats and I could still see my nail line I would maybe think of applying a white base but I feel you would loose the softness of the polish.

Thrifty Thursday Butter London Keks

Butter London's keks is a lovely azure blue polish, polish has a lovely formula and consistency the polish is almost fully opaque in one coat and it applies smoothly. I did apply two coats just to cover the slight nail line you could see on the first coat. This polish dries matte which is a nice finish but if you like a glossy finish to your polish you just apply a glossy top coat.

I purchased this polish from a nail polish sale page on facebook

Throwback Tuesday Illamasqua Rare

Illamsqua's rare is a in your face sunshine hi vis jacket yellow neon. This polish had better coverage than I expected it would, neon polishes can be notoriously tricky to work with but this one wasn't the worst. The first coat did apply slightly streaky but the coverage was good, you can still see some nail line. This polish will take 2-3 coats to be fully opaque depending on how thick you apply the polish, this polish has a slightly thicker consistency but it isn't a hard formula to work with you definitely don't need a white base with this polish because it pops without one.
