Throwback Tuesday Essie Lapiz of luxury

This is a lovely periwinkle blue , the consistency is lovely not to thick or thin. The coverage isn't the greatest the first coat does apply slightly patchy and it will take 2-3 coats for full opacity depending on how thick you apply the polish.

The polishes I loved wearing this summer

Summer is coming to a end and for some people you might be sad but if your like me you'll be happy because the cozy months are coming, in Scotland we don't get much summer maybe a day or two so I love when autumn/winter comes around so I can wrap up warm in jumpers and chill at home all cozy with a warm drink. I am deviating from the point of this post I'm sorry this post is about all the lovely polishes I loved wearing this summer.

Danglefootpolish- Everlasting gobstopper

I loved wearing this polish the creamy white base with the pop of color from the different particles that are in this polish. Sometimes I find a pure white polish to harsh depending on how bright the white is but this polish is a milky white which to me is a easier white to wear and I love the pops of different colours.

Color club – Foxy mama

I haven't done my review for this polish yet but it will be coming next week so keep your eyes peeled. I feel like the picture kind of speaks for itself and why I loved this polish this summer.

China glaze – Rain dance the night away

I am a sucker for a blue polish and especially one with a good formula, this polish has a lovely formula and its a lovely colour. I have wrote a review for this polish so I will link it here if you would like to know more about this polish

Essie – Naughty nautical

I was never into green polish till this summer and this polish is one of my favorites. This polish is a lovely deep green with silver glitter that runs through the polish. I have wrote a review for this polish so I will link the post here if you would like to know more about this polish, feel free to check out the link http://kyliedoesnailpolish.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/may-favourites.html

Summer is coming to a end but it doesn't mean you have to stop wearing these polishes, wear whatever colour makes you happy polish is supposed to be fun if you don't like a polish/colour just remove it and try another one.

Essie – Make some noise collection

Groove is in the heart

Groove is in the heart is a salmon pink polish, I have to admit I hate the formulation of this particular polish the consistency is really thin, it was running down the brush while I applied it to my nail so just be careful if you are applying this polish. The first coat is very streaky and I felt like the polish was quite chalky, I had to apply three coats of this polish and I still wasn't happy with the finish, this polish isn't a neon its just bright.

Vibrant vibes

Vibrant vibes is a bright lime green polish the consistency of this polish again was on the thin side. The first coat I applied was quite sheer, I did have to apply three coats to make the polish fully opaque. This polish wasn't as hard to work with like groove in the heart was but it still isn't the greatest formulation, I would like to mention that the swatch picture doesn't do justice to this polish because it is a lot brighter in real life.

Coacha'Bella

Coacha'bella is a berry pink polish, the coverage of this polish was good I only had to apply two coats, it wasn't streaky which is a plus but it has got that same watery thin consistency that the previous polishes I mentioned have, so I just had to be extra careful while applying this polish I don't see how this is a neon but it is a nice colour.

Melody maker

Melody maker is a deep grass green polish, no surprise the consistency of this polish is rubbish but the coverage is decent I only needed to apply two coats so if you can get past the crappy consistency this polish would be ok. I personally think this polish would be a nice green to wear in autumn.

All access pass

All access pass is a indigo polish, this polish and groove is in the heart had to be the two worst polishes out of this collection for me, again thin consistency but this polish was super patchy I had to apply three coats of polish and I still wasn't happy with the finish, its a nice colour but its not worth the hassle.

Make some noise

Make some noise is a bright medium blue, the coverage of this polish is ok depending on how thick a coat you apply it will take 2-3 coats to make this polish fully opaque, again the consistency is crap just take time applying this polish because it might flood your cuticles. Just a little warning this polish will stain your nails so double up on your base coat or apply a base and white polish to prevent staining.

Essie - Flowerista collection

Garden variety

Garden variety this
polish is more green
Garden variety is a deep teal polish that leans more green than blue. The formulation for this polish is ok, the first coat applied slightly patchy and the consistency was on the thinner side but it's not so thin that it runs off the brush it was a was fine to work with. The second coat really helped this polish it made the polish look brighter and was fully opaque, unfortunately my swatch picture made this polish look a lot more blue than it really is so I apologise for that, the polish has a more green than the picture shows.

Flowerista

Flowerista
Flowerista is a deep purple polish with a slight hint of pink. The formulation of this polish was ok it was nothing special slightly on the thinner side, I would suggest you don't load the brush with polish when painting with this polish it helped me for the application. The first coat of this polish was fine not patchy but it does benefit from a second coat, I'm not blown away by this colour its certainly not unique, if you look at some of the other spring/summer collections from this year you will find a similar colour of polish to this one, all in all the polish was just ok nothing special.

Blossom dandy

Blossom dandy
Blossom dandy is a light green blue polish almost a sea foam colour. The consistency of this polish is good its not to thick or thin it was easy to apply, the first coat did apply slightly patchy but the second coat really did make the polish pop. Not really a lot to complain about with this polish the colour is nice but nothing really unique and formulation was good.

Petal pusher

Petal pusher
Petal pusher is a medium grey with a hint of purple, blue tones running though it. This polish could defiantly be a one coater but just be careful when applying because the consistency is on the thinner side. I am a fan of grey polishes and I do like this one, I'm just not sure if it has a place in this collection, this colour doesn't really scream spring to me I would put it down as more of a autumn/winter colour but that is just my opinion. Again this polish is nice nothing over exciting just nice.

Perennial chic

Perennial chic
Perennial chic is a lovely light pastel peachy orange polish, I really like the colour of this polish its like a neutral with a difference but the consistency of the polish is crap. The was so watery it was running of the brush and flooding my cuticles, it's really a shame that the consistency of this polish is rubbish because it didn't apply streaky or patchy which with this kind of lighter colour sometimes they apply patchy and it only needed two coats, The colour is lovely but the consistency of this polish is so hard to work with that its almost not worth the effort its a real shame.

Picked perfect

Picked perfect
Picked perfect is a caramel milk chocolate colour, the consistency of this polish was on the thinner side but its not as watery as perennial chic. This polish is fully opaque in one coat it wasn't streaky or patchy which is a plus. There's nothing really over exciting about this polish the colour is nice but I'm sure I could find a dupe for it in my collection with a better formula.

Essie - Nice is nice

Nice is nice is a lovely pastel lavender, it's the perfect polish for all year round. The consistency of this polish was super thin it was running off the brush which scared me a little, but the first coat did not go on streaky I was shocked considering it had a thin formula and was a pastel colour. The polish only needed two coats and it dried fast. The colour for this polish is nothing special there are many different pastel lavender nail polishes out there, but I was impressed this polish didn't apply streaky.

If you would like to purchase this polish you can buy it from here http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006HGYWVY/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1432494766&sr=1&keywords=nice+is+nice

May Favourites

I am probably not going to post a monthly favourites every month but I thought I would share with you a few favourites I have had this month

Essie – Naughty nautical
Essie's naughty nautical is a dark mint green with silver sparkles running through the polish. This is a lovely summer colour I don't know why but I love this colour there is just something about it. The formula is slightly thin for this polish but its not streaky when it goes on which is a plus side and it only needs two coats.

Wild about beauty – Isla
I know grey isn't a spring/summer colour but I love wearing grey polish, I think it looks so smart and goes with anything. This is a true slate grey the consistency of the formula is good not to thick or thin, and only needs two coats. The only downside I have with this polish is that it smells a little on the strong side, but the smell goes away once you have painted it your nails, the smell doesn't linger on your nails which is ok.

Barry M gelly -Sky blue
This is a true sky baby blue such a lovely colour for the summer. The formula is slightly thin and this polish does paint streaky on the first coat, but don't worry the second coat turns out better and its quite good at self levelling itself. I am not the biggest fan of the brush for this polish its quite thin but it wasn't to hard to work with. Its a lovely colour and it's supper glossy.

Color club – Diggin the dancing queen
If you had read my color club review you will already know I love this colour. It is a bright lilac pink it is just so pretty on the nails. The formula isn't to bad its thin and streaky on the first coat but like sky blue the second coat turns out better. I only needed two coats when I painted my nails with this colour but it depends how you paint your nails you might need three. I just love this colour I know I have said it with all these colours and that's why they are all in my favourites.

Like I said before I don't think I will do a favourites every month but I will try my best.

My top summer nail colours

The colour of polish I wear on my nails changes throughout the year, in winter I wear black, grey and navy and in the summer I like to wear brighter coloured polishes, these are the five polish colours I gravitate towards in the summer.

Pink

A selection of pink polishes
Yes pink is a all year round nail colour for some people but for me I don't wear it that much except the summer time. A perfect pastel creamy pink is a perfect colour for a wedding, and if your scared of some of the brighter colours try a raspberry pink.

Orange
A selection of orange polishes
Don't be scared of colour on the nails, yes orange sounds scary but maybe try with a creamier orange that's not so neon.

A selection of green polishes
Green
Again don't be scared of colour you don't have to go full on with a Grinch green polish, there is some amazing mint pastel green polishes out there.

Purple
A selection of purple polishes
Purple might me another popular colour that a lot of people wear in the summer, to be honest with you I wear it all year round.

Blue

A selection of blue polishes
Blue sounds a very 80's colour but don't worry I thought that at first but now blue polish is one of my favorite colours to wear.

Don't be scared of colour nail polish is temporary, if you are not sure about it remove it , so have fun with some colour this summer.
