Fresh Friday- Seventeen Silver and white

This product is basically a thrifty Thursday and fresh Friday product all in one, I found this polish in a set of two for £3 at boots in the sale. You don't really see much holographic polishes in mainstream brands so I saw this one and had to pick it up. This polish is a sliver and holographic glitter mix in a clear base the holographic glitters are medium hex's and the silver glitters are small/micro round glitters. I applied this polish as a topper you probably could get it opaque if you sponge it on but I don't normally apply my glitter polishes that way and I would probably use this polish as a topper anyway. The glitters apply nice and evenly you don't need to dab or fish for the glitters, what I also liked is the clear polish base isn't thick at all so your nails don't get lumpy after applying two coats of your base colour and then this glitter topper, I find some glitters I have worn have a thick polish base and your nails just turn out lumpy and no one wants a lumpy manicure.

I bought this from boots you might be able to still find this polish if you go into the store

Thrifty Thursday- Polish me silly All wraped up

All wraped up is a white crelly polish with small, medium and large glitters in tons of different colours. This polish has a thicker consistency and is sort of a pain to apply, the base colour applies nicely but the glitters apply sparsely and are a pain to get on your nails. I would suggest with this polish paint one coat like you normally would and on your second coat shake the bottle a lot and fish for the glitters and just dab the polish on your nails where you want to place the glitters because I only got two of the bigger glitters for my whole manicure so I would highly suggest fishing. I love the look of these kind of polishes I just wish they were easier to apply but if you persevere with this polish it will turn out nicely.

I purchased this polish from a nail polish selling page on facebook

Throwback Tuesday- Sally Hansen Scarab

Sally Hansen's scarab is a lovely blue to green duo chrome. this polish is beautiful. The consistency is great it isn't to thick or thin the polish applies smoothly and the coverage is good. You can get away with one coat but I applied two coats just to see if it would deepen the colour of the polish it didn't. You will see slight brush strokes with this polish but they aren't in your face and this polish wont stain your nails when you remove it which is a plus because some darker colours will stain your nails.

I purchased this polish from poundland but I'm sure you can find it on amazon or ebay

Fresh Friday- KB Shimmer Alloy matey!

This polish is a beautiful in your face small silver and holo glitter mix in a clear base. I wasn't sure if this polish was going to be a glitter topper but the first coat had really good coverage this polish is full of glitter, I would say this polish does take 2-3 coats to be opaque the polish wont get to thick and gloopy if you apply a third coat which is a plus. The consistency is on the thicker side but it was easy to apply, the polish does dry slightly textured because of how much glitter is in this polish so I would suggest a thick coat of top coat or two coats of top coat just so you have a nice smooth finish. I love the holo in this polish it is in your face no need for direct sunlight or putting your nails under a lamp because you will see the holographic glitters.

Thrifty Thursday- Illamasqua Force

Illamasqua's force is a medium blurple in some lights it looks purple in others it looks blue but its a cream polish. This is a beautiful polish to apply it can be fully opaque in one coat depending on how thick a layer you apply but I did apply two coats just to see if it would deepen the colour and it did slightly. The consistency is slightly on the thin side but the polish doesn't run off the brush, this is just a lovely polish.

I purchased this polish from TK Maxx

Treatment Tuesday – Jessica Phenomen Oil

If you have read previous blog posts you know I am obsessed with cuticle products and this is the cuticle oil I am currently using so I thought I would review it. This is a lovely oil it has a nice texture its slightly thicker than your normal cuticle oils but I sometimes prefer a slightly thicker oil. The oil is slightly greasy but only slightly the oil sinks into your cuticles beautifully, yes it wont sink in immediately but it is a super hydrating oil. The smell is lovey as well it reminds me of almond oil its kind of sweet and nutty but the scent isn't overpowering. This oil is slightly more expensive than most oils but this oil is super hydrating and not overly greasy/oily and you only need the tiniest amount this oil will last you a couple of months.

Fresh Friday- True Brit London Racing green

True Brit London is quite a new brand to me and this is why I'm featuring this polish as a fresh Friday post. This polish in the bottle looks like a mermaid polish it looks like a green/blue shifting polish but on the nail this polish looked straight up green with maybe the slightest hint of blue with a green shimmer running though the polish. This polish has a beautiful consistency it is slightly on the thicker side but I prefer that and its not overly thick the polish was still smooth and easy to apply, The first coat did apply slightly patchy but this polish is fully opaque in two coats. I do have a little downside to this polish it does show slight brush strokes but its nothing major. I just wanted to add I love the bottles for this brands polishes they are a lovely shape and they have a substantial weight to them they really feel super luxurious the polishes are slightly on the higher end price range but for me its worth it.

I purchased this polish from http://www.truebritlondon.co.uk/product/racing-green/

And if you want to check out the rest of the range http://www.truebritlondon.co.uk/shop/

Thrifty Thursday- O.P.I Sleigh parking only

I know its not Christmas and this polish is not a spring/summer colour but I like dark polish and you don't always have to follow the trends, if you want to wear a dark polish in summer you can, and it was a bargain. This polish is a deep auburn with I feel a slight hint of aubergine. The consistency of this polish is very thick but its not hard to apply, the first coat did apply slightly patchy but this polish is fully opaque in two coats also this polish dries demi matte so I would suggest applying a top coat.

I purchased this in the bargain rack at my local sally's but if you cant find it at your local sally's you can purchase it here http://www.nailpolishdirect.co.uk/nail-polish-collections-c76/holiday-gwen-stefani-2014-nail-polish-collection-sleigh-parking-only-15ml-hr-f12-p12697 or amazon

Throwback Tuesday- Leighton denny Crushed grape

I have wanted this polish from Leighton Denny for so long and I was lucky enough to receive a mini of crushed grape in a Christmas set.
This polish is a beautiful deep mauve polish that is opaque in one coat, the polish doesn't apply streaky or patchy the consistency is lovely I do not have a bad word to say about this polish. The polish looks so chic and sophisticated and grown up which I like, I will definitely be buying the bigger size this is a lovely polish nice to apply and a lovely colour.

I cant find the set I got the mini in but you can purchase a full size from http://leightondennyexpertnails.com/crushed-grape-12ml

Friday Favorites – Empties Part 2

Sally hansen Hard as nails Natural tint

I bought this product a while ago because I hoped it would be like the perfect formula gel coat because the gel coat is harder for me to get my hands on and it costs a lot more. I am happy to say this product did the job it makes your nails look almost perfect it whitens your tips, it just makes your nails look nice and I got through all of this bottle before it got thick which is good so if you are looking for a cheaper version of the perfect formula pink gel that wont get thick I would recommend this.

Soap and glory Hand food

I am obsessed with the smell of this hand cream I can't put my finger on what is smells like but it is a floral scent that is in your face. This hand cream isn't to thick and its not greasy at all it just sinks in nicely I would definitely recommend this product maybe not so much if you don't like strong smells but I think the smell is lovely.

Coco on the beach cuticle balm

This is a nice cuticle balm that reminds me of summer. This balm isn't super oily and sinks in nicely even though the tub is small this product lasts a while. I like this cuticle balm so much I have bought another one but I am saving it for when summer comes around because the balm smells of summer.

Clarins Hand and nail treatment cream

This hand cream hasn't got the nicest of smells it does smell a bit like a grans perfume. It is a nice cream the texture is nice and it does sink in quickly. I can't really tell you if it helped my age spots because I don't have any yet and I cant tell you if it strengthened my nails because I use a lot of other nail products that help for that kind of thing.

Revlon Colorstay gel envy diamond top coat

I liked this top coat it is slightly on the thicker side but it was easy to work with, this top coat is super glossy and made my manicures last longer. This product didn't thicken when I neared the bottom of the bottle which is a plus , but I do have a problem with the bottle, the problem is that the bottle is dark black which means I couldn't see how far down I was with this product and how much I had used but that is just cosmetic, the product was good to use and I would purchase it again.

Loccitane Cherry blossom hand cream

I love the scent of this hand cream its floral and feminine. This hand cream isn't thick which is good it sinks into the skin nicely and leaves the smell on your hands for a while which is nice because I love the smell, this is just a nice hand cream nothing special but I do love the scent.

Thrifty Thursday- Bourjois So Laque glossy Taupe modele

I love a bargain and when I was food shopping the other week in tesco I realized they had a polish bargain bin, I was all over it like a rash and I found some nice polishes and this polish is one of the polishes I found in the bargain bin. This polish is a light to medium brown with some tones of grey and purple, the colour is not the most unusual but its a nice sophisticated nude polish. This polish does apply quite sheer I would say depending on how thick a coat you apply it takes 2-3 coats to be fully opaque, the consistency is fine I would suggest not to overload the brush because you will flood your cuticles but the consistency is easy to work with, the polish applied smoothly and non streaky. This polish states it dries glossy and it does it looked like I applied a glossy top coat which I never and the polish also dried quite fast which is a plus.

Like I said I purchased this polish at tesco reduced but if you can find a bourjois counter you might find this polish there if not you can find it here ( sorry its not reduced in price) http://www.superdrug.com/Bourjois/Bourjois-So-Laque-Glossy-Nail-Polish-Taupe-Modele-5/p/626153#.Vpa08I_XL4g
